“The losing isn’t as bad…” – Justin Thomas opens up about betting on practice rounds in Netflix’s Full Swing 

Justin Thomas headlines the first episode of the Netflix golf docuseries, Full Swing. The first episode of the series revolves around Thomas and his college buddy Jordan Spieth. The American duo opened up about their friendships, jealousy, competition, and also personal life.

After 15 minutes into the first episode, it focuses on the PGA Championship, in which Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth compete against each other. Some photos from their practice session were shown in the docuseries.

The video saw the two friends playing a hammer game as Spieth said, “50 hammers, birdie double.”

Thomas and Spieth bet during the practice session to perform better than others. They believed it helped them to stay motivated. Thomas was heard in the video saying:

“The losing isn’t as bad as having to give that person money.”

Spieth added:

“It’s a lot more fun when people have to watch him give money.”

The episode also features Justin Thomas’ father Mike Thomas sharing a story from a year back. He said:

“They’re big practical jokers. Justin, the first year he played in Phoenix, Jordan paid the valet to move his car off-site. He came out to get his car, it wasn’t there. Of course he knew immediately who it was.”


Justin Thomas opens up about his friendship with Jordan Spieth

Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth always make headlines whenever the two come together to compete on the greens. In December 2022, when they teamed up to take on Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, they had a lot of fun on the course. Thomas and Spieth even uploaded a video teasing Tiger and Rory for their defeat.

Full Swing‘s first episode is entirely based on these two friends and their years-long relationship. Thomas and Spieth grew up together.

The show’s producer was undoubtedly intrigued to learn about their relationship and did not hesitate to ask Justin about his friendship with Jordan. He inquired:

“How’s your relationship with Jordan nowadays? Are you still tight?”

Thomas responded immediately:

“Yeah, he’s the best man at my wedding, so I hope he’d say the same.”

The dynamic duo also opened up about their bromance in competitions. Thomas admitted that he was once jealous of Jordan Spieth. However, over the years, the bond between the two grew stronger.

Full Swing consists of eight episodes, all of which have unique and amazing stories. It features 13 professional golfers who have made their names in the golf world over the years. The series talks about their struggles, problems, failures, love, emotions, losses, wins, depression, frustration, anxiety, and much more. It was released on Netflix on February 15.

Full Swing also features LIV golfers and their debates to join the Saudi-backed series.

Rory McIlroy also made a special appearance on the last episode of the series. He talked about his friend Tiger Woods and how he always sends congratulatory texts to him whenever he wins a tournament. However, the 15-time Major champion did not feature in the show
