  • The Philadelphia 76ers are slight 1-point favorites when they visit the LA Clippers Tuesday night
  • Los Angeles will be playing the second game of a back-to-back after beating Houston Monday
  • Read below for the 76ers vs Clippers odds and predictions

The Philadelphia 76ers (27-16, 10-9 away) haven’t lost on the road in 2023.

They’ll look for their fourth straight road win when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers (23-22, 13-10 home), looking to complete the LA double after knocking off the Lakers on Sunday. That was the second of back-to-back games, having beat Utah the day previous.

LA is coming off a 121-100 blowout over the Houston Rockets, and will try to finish their 5-game homestand with a winning record, after alternating wins in their previous four.

It all gets underway Tuesday (Jul 17) at 10pm ET from crypto.com Arena, in a game you can see live on TNT.

The NBA odds have the visitors as 1-point favorites, and a slight -116 favorite on the moneyline.

LA is 13-10 at home, but they will be shorthanded in this one. Paul George (hamstring) is listed as questionable and could  miss his sixth straight contest. Another wing, Luke Kennard (calf) has already been ruled out. while John Wall (abdominal strain) is out for at least two weeks.

Philadelphia Betting Analysis

Just a few games removed from missing time with a foot injury, Joel Embiid played on consecutive nights, and was the difference maker in a win over the Lakers.

The all-star big man, who’s currently second in the NBA in scoring at 33.4 points per game, poured in 35 points, with 11 rebounds and four blocks. He has been on a tear in the new year, scoring at least 30 points in all five games, grabbing at least 10 boards and shooting over 57% from the field in four of them.

James Harden dropped 24 points, with seven boards and 13 assists, while Tyrese Maxey, coming off the bench now as DeAnthony Melton slides into the starting lineup, had 16 points and five rebounds.

The 76ers have now won 15 of their last 19, and sit comfortable in fourth in the East. Their defense has been their foundation, holding teams to 110.2 points per game (4th), keeping things close and allowing Embiid and Harden to close games.

Los Angeles Betting Analysis

It was a much-needed win last time out for the Clippers over the lowly Rockets, as they had dropped seven of their previous eight decisions.

Terance Mann came up huge, dropping a game-high 31 points, including 5-for-8 from downtown, while adding six boards and four dimes. Kawhi Leonard, meanwhile, poured in 30 of his own, with six rebounds and four assists.

It’s the third time Leonard has topped the 30-point plateau this season. He’s played only 21 games this season so far, as he tries to come back from an ACL surgery that cost him all of last year.

LA’s troubles come on offense, as they score 109.4 points per game, which is the third-worst mark in the league — despite being a top-10 3-point shooting team, hitting at a 37% clip.

Like Philly, they hang their hat on defense, sporting the 3rd-best scoring defense in the NBA, at 109.9 points per game.

76ers vs Clippers Betting Prediction

This will be the second and final meeting between these teams this season. Philly won at home 119-114, a game where Embiid went for 44 points and seven boards. Leonard had 28 points and five assists.

Los Angeles hasn’t fared well against the better clubs, going 7-14 in 21 games against teams with a winning record. However, the 76ers haven’t been a great bet on the road against teams with a winning record, going just 1-7 against the spread in their last eight.

The Sixers have been the bet in this matchup recently, covering in 11 of the last 14 meetings. They are also 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in LA.

Normally, this would be a prime spot to pick LA, motivated by their last home date before playing 10 of their next 11 away from crypto.com.

They’re just too dinged up and can’t score enough to do it against a good Sixers’ unit.

Pick:

  • 76ers -1 (-110); 1 unit to win 0.91 units
  • NBA Betting Record: 23-20 ATS, 1-1 ML, 4-4 o/u, 0-2 parlays; -0.18 units
