Happy new year! Welcome to your 2023 horoscope, the forecast for a year that will elevate our passions and lust for life.

The new year begins while Mercury and Mars are Retrograde. Mars retrograde began on October 30 in Gemini and lasts until January 12. Mercury Retrograde began on December 29 and lasts until January 18 in Capricorn. Therefore, the year will get off to a very slow start. Of course, the Mercury retrograde that starts our year won’t be the only one. There are three more occurring in 2023: April 21 to May 14 in Taurus, August 23 to September 15 in Virgo, and December 13 to January 1 in the signs of Capricorn and Sagittarius (Mercury retrograde backspins into Sagittarius on December 23).

Every one and a half years, the lunar Nodes of Destiny move into other signs. On July 7, they will glide into Aries and Libra until January 11, 2025. The North Node of Destiny in Aries and South Node of Destiny in Libra urges us to spice up our relationships and move towards what we truly love. 

There are four eclipses in 2023:  A solar eclipse in Aries on April 20, a lunar eclipse in Scorpio on May 5, a solar eclipse in Libra on October 14, and a lunar eclipse in Taurus on October 28. These intense cosmic phenomenons are asking us to align with those we have a soulful connection with and to give our all to making partnerships work. 

The Sun’s yearly connection with Venus, also known as the Venus Star Point, occurs on August 13, making it a great time to manifest our heartfelt desires. The planet of romance, Venus, will be retrograde from July 22 to September 3 in Leo, which will bring exes back into the picture and confuse current liaisons.  

Lucky, philosophic, and adventurous Jupiter moves into Taurus on May 16 (and stays out there until May 24, 2024). We can expect indulgence and hedonism to take charge in every capacity — which means that the party will never stop unless we consume our minds with artistic endeavors. 

Karmic planet Saturn moves into Pisces on March 7 and will remain in the water sign for the next 2.5 years. Dreams can become real at this time — so do the work to attain them and be careful what you wish for. 

Transformative Pluto temporarily moves into  Aquarius from March 23, 2023, to June 11, 2023, but moves back into Capricorn on June 11 during its planetary backspin. Pluto completely dives into Aquarius on November 19, 2024 until January 19, 2044. The last time Pluto was in  Aquarius occurred during the American Revolution. This will be a time of autonomy, scientific and space exploration, technological advances, and altruism in modern societies.
