Horse racing predictions: Hereford, Wetherby and Dundalk – Wednesday November 23

Midweek racing action comes from a trio of venues across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday afternoon and serves up both National Hunt and all-weather fare.

Hereford (12.50-3.50pm) starts the ball rolling and there’s a second jumps card at Wetherby (1.05-3.40) before Dundalk (2.00-5.30) provides the first all-weather offering of the week in Ireland.

Wednesday’s nap has a good record at Hereford and is fancied to land a first win at the track for her new trainer.

Horse racing predictions: Hereford 3.20pm

SASHENKA has figures of 212 at this venue and she could be capable of another success in this 2m 3½f mares’ handicap hurdle on only her second appearance for new trainer Dominic Ffrench-Davis.

Solid if not spectacular on the Flat for Sylvester Kirk, Sashenka opened her account in a 2m hurdle for Michael Scudamore at this venue in February, justifying favouritism to claim a four-length win on her first start following a wind operation.

She relocated to Ffrench-Davis’s operation over the summer and was second best on her stable bow here in October. She was no match for her main market rival (whom she was giving 9lb) but clear in turn of the third.

She remains on the same mark of 118 and once more has Ben Ffrench-Davis claiming a handy 7lb in the saddle. That run three weeks ago should leave her spot-on and Sashenka can continue her good form at Hereford.

Selection: Sashenka @ SP with Paddy Power

Horse racing predictions: Wetherby 2.10

Tango Boy won over course and distance last month on his seasonal return for Neil Mulholland and has a valid claim from this 4lb higher mark but preference is forLucinda Russell’s READYSTEADYBEAU.

He is lightly raced over hurdles, making just five starts and collecting his maiden hurdle win over an extended three miles at Haydock on soft ground in December last year.

He was back from 252 days off when third at Ayr (2m 4½f, good to soft) last month on the same day Tango Boy was scoring here. That was a pleasing start for Readysteadybeau and the likelihood is that he will be much better suited back to this 3m trip on his second start of the season.

With that in mind the six-year-old gets the nod to score for a trainer in good form who boasts a 23 per cent strike-rate in recent weeks.

Selection: Readysteadybeau @ SP with Paddy Power

Horse racing predictions: Dundalk 2.30

Connections of WHITE BIRCH would surely have been delighted when he finished fifth at odds of 80/1 on his debut in a Naas maiden over a mile on heavy ground at the start of this month.

That contest was won by Aidan O’Brien’s 101-rated Sierra Blanca, who had previously finished second in a  Group 3 contest over 7f at Leopardstown.

White Birch switches to the Polytrack for this second outing over that same trip and family connections indicate the son of Ulysses should act on this synthetic surface.

Stall 10 poses a test for rider Robbie Colgan but it’s likely he can overcome that in a race that may lack depth and there doesn’t appear to be anything of Sierra Blanca’s talent here. With normal improvement from first to second run, he could get on the scoresheet.

Selection: White Birch @ SP with Paddy Power
