Packers vs. Raiders live updates: Predictions, odds, how to watch ‘Monday Night Football’

The Week 5 edition of “Monday Night Football” will serve as the stage for a notable reunion.

Davante Adams spent the first eight years of his career with the Green Bay Packers, but the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver pushed his way to the Las Vegas Raiders via a trade last offseason. Now, Adams will welcome many of his former teammates to town in his first showdown against his old squad.

Adams had been listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, but is active and will face his former team despite being listed as questionable during the week. Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is will be back in action after missing last week’s game in the aftermath of a concussion.

The game will also be a family affair, with brothers Daniel Carlson (Raiders) and Anders Carlson (Packers) handling kicking duties for their respective teams.

Check back throughout the night for live updates on Packers vs. Raiders:

Packers vs. Raiders will begin at 8:15 p.m. ET on Oct. 9.

Packers at Raiders will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN, with a “ManningCast” airing on ESPN2. The game is also available to stream for free on Fubo.

Packers running back Aaron Jones is inactive and will miss a third game this season due to a lingering hamstring injury.

Jones played in the Packers’ “Thursday Night Football” loss to the Lions, but was a limited participant during all three practices this week. He missed games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints earlier this season after injuring his hamstring at the end of a touchdown run in the second half of Week 1 vs. the Chicago Bears.

Meanwhile, Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams is active and will play against his former team.

Packers’ inactive players:

  • WR Malik Heath
  • RB Aaron Jones
  • S Anthony Johnson Jr.
  • S Zayne Anderson
  • LB De’Vondre Campbell
  • T Caleb Jones

Raiders’ inactive players:

  • CB Jakorian Bennett
  • QB Aidan O’Connell
  • S Chris Smith II
  • CB Nate Hobbs
  • LB Amari Burney
  • WR Kristian Wilkerson
  • DT Nesta Jade Silvera

Lorenzo Reyes: Packers 23, Raiders 18

Expect Green Bay to be an up-and-down team all season. Even then, Las Vegas is still a bigger risk here, even if Jimmy Garoppolo can play. Las Vegas has an NFL-worst -9 turnover differential and coach Josh McDaniels’ game management has been questionable at times this season.

Tyler Dragon: Packers 24, Raiders 19

Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams and the Raiders are growing more frustrated with every loss. Adams will be motivated against his former team, but a lack of execution and ill-advised mistakes will doom Las Vegas once again. The Raiders have an AFC-most 10 giveaways. Jordan Love and the Packers get a win in prime time.

Victoria Hernandez: Packers 22, Raiders 17

The Packers had a few more days to rest and prepare after losing to the Detroit Lions. The Raiders, meanwhile, can’t seem to catch a break. They seem to be tired and frustrated after losing three in a row this season and seven of their last nine matchups dating back to last year.

Jordan Mendoza: Packers 24, Raiders 19

If he can play, Davante Adams will want to show out against his former team, but history isn’t on his side. The last time the Raiders beat the Packers was 1987. Green Bay has won eight straight against Las Vegas, and they make it nine with Jordan Love having the best game of his first season as a starter.

The Raiders entered Monday’s game as 2.5-point favorites over the Packers, according to BetMGM.

Highlighting Monday Night Football odds, the Green Bay Packers are among the best bets for NFL Week 5 as road underdogs. The Las Vegas Raiders are favored by 1 point over the Packers, according to the BetMGM NFL odds. Looking to wager? Check out the best mobile sports betting apps offering NFL betting promos in 2023.

After waking up with no voice, Scott Van Pelt is unavailable to host “Monday Night Countdown” for Week 5, the ESPN host posted on social media ahead of the Las Vegas Raiders hosting the Green Bay Packers.

“Unfortunately, I woke up to zero voice at all,” Van Pelt wrote on X. “Just gone. As a result, no trip to Vegas for Monday Night Countdown or @SportsCenter.”

Joe Buck and his wife Michelle Beisner-Buck, the “Countdown” team’s features reporter for the past two seasons, will jointly assume Van Pelt’s hosting duties. Beisner-Buck has been with ESPN since 2014, and Buck joined her at the network last year.

The ManningCast − featuring Super Bowl-winning quarterback brothers Peyton and Eli Manning − is back for a second consecutive week. The alternate “Monday Night Football” simulcast will air on ESPN2 during the Packers-Raiders game.

Tonight’s guest is Desmond Howard, who played for both the Packers and Raiders.

After Monday night’s game, Peyton and Eli will take a week off before returning for the Week 7 MNF game between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings.
