Several great friendships have graced the NBA irrespective of players being from different teams, sometimes even rival times. Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley’s friendship would be a prime example if they hadn’t broken up their decades-old bond. Speaking of decades-old friendships, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and LeBron James also have years of comradery between the four of them. However, according to a recent Instagram story from D-Wade, it looks like James might have been replaced by CJ McCollum.
The deep bonding between James and Co came to light when the four were pictured in a Banana Boat in the Bahamas in 2015. Reportedly, there was even a scare of Melo drowning, but The King rescued him. Eight years later, the banana boat crew looks to have ditched the Lakers star, as they included CJ in their wine club, while James is on his European tour.

On the other hand, James, who is enthusiastic about wine as well, is on a European tour for the past few weeks, ‘minding his own business’ and probably sipping a lot of unique kinds of wine. He deserved the break, after a grueling year that saw his Lakers squad turning around their season in the playoffs, just to get swept by the eventual champions, the Denver Nuggets, in the Western Conference Finals.
LeBron James can’t stay off the news even on his vacation
Recently, Nuggets coach Michael Malone trolled the Lakers superstar hilariously while speaking to Pat McAfee. “Speaking of the Lakers…I am thinking about retiring. Don’t tell anybody,” said Malone.
It was a jab toward James who hinted at retirement after the Lakers lost Game 4, which resulted in the Nuggets getting none of the limelight they deserved for reaching the NBA Finals with a sweep.
James countered that in a cryptic Instagram post, responding to Malone’s comments. LeBron, who waved the flag at 24 Hours of Le Mans recently, wrote in the post, “In Europe for the last past few weeks minding my business and I hear I’m on your mind that much huh??? I mean I guess I see why.” Fans will be really excited to see how the Lakers Nuggets matchup goes next season.
