Hart County tourism agencies awarded big winners! – WNKY News 40 Television

MUNFORDILLE, Ky. – Recently, Hart County experienced a big win for two local tourism agencies. Horse Cave/Hart County Tourism and Munfordville tourism swept award after award for their outstanding community support, digital footprint, print advertising and more.

The Kentucky Travel Industry Association awarded the two tourism agencies twelve total Traverse Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing.

Out of 160 applicants, both tourism departments clutched the top 10 percent of marketing projects over the last year.

Amongst these accolades, Munfordville Tourism secured one of only 19 gold awards at the ceremony thanks to their stellar Christmas on Main bracelet promotion.

Horse Cave/Hart County Tourism Executive Director Sandra Wilson said, “It’s all about economic development… It’s especially gratifying when small places can win lots of awards.”

Munfordville Tourism Executive Director Coni Shepperd added, “I love it, and I love my town. Munfordville is a great little town, and everybody here is so proud.”

In 2021 alone, Hart County Tourism brought in almost $35 million, smashing their previous record by five percent.

Currently, the county employs 269 tourism-related jobs.
