Capgemini acquires German business intelligence firm Braincourt

In its fourth European deal this year, Capgemini has acquired Braincourt, a Germany-based firm specialised in business intelligence and data science services.

The deal sees a team of around 90 staff transition to Capgemini’s German division. “Their team is a natural fit for Capgemini in terms of services, competences, and culture,” said Zhiwei Jiang, a member of Cagemini’s executive committee.

Headquartered in Stuttgart, Braincourt is active across Germany, and in Austria and Switzerland. The firm specialises in designing and developing Business Intelligence and data science solutions on the technology stacks of vendors including Atlassian, Board, Microsoft, SAP and Tableau.

Braincourt’s key areas of focus lie in back office functions such as finance and human resources, and at industrial clients, also in the production and logistics domain. “They bring to Capgemini a well-established track record in the design and implementation of advanced business intelligence, artificial intelligence, analytics and data science solutions for optimising business processes,” said Jiang.

Meanwhile, for Braincourt, the joining of forces sees the firm drop its independent after standing on its own feet for 22 years. According to Günter Hauser, Executive Partner of Braincourt, the team is however keen to reap the benefits from the beneficial move.

“We are very much looking forward to bringing our expertise to augment Capgemini’s data and analytics offerings. Not only will our team members benefit from contributing to projects that leverage Capgemini’s breadth and depth of business offerings but our clients, many of whom are global brands, will have access to a much broader range of services that can be delivered for them across the globe.”

Terms and conditions of the deal have not been disclosed by privately-held Braincourt nor Paris-listed Capgemini.

Earlier this year, Capgemini acquired Pega partner Knowledge Expert in Switzerland, and financial services specialist Chappuis Halder in France. In the UK, design and brand agency Rufus Leonard was added to Capgemini Invent’s frog division.
