The Lincoln Blue Tiger men’s basketball program added to its roster Friday as Jose Roberto Tanchyn committed to join the Blue Tigers for the upcoming season via Twitter.

Tanchyn, a 6-foot-10 forward who is 19 years old and originally from Cordoba, Spain, helped Spain capture the FIBA U-18 European Championships title in 2022. Tanchyn appeared in six games in the tournament and scored 15 points in 38 minutes of game action.

Tanchyn played in Spanish EBA league for Unicaja-Andalucia in 2021-22 and averaged 22.3 minutes per game while scoring 6.8 points per contest on 58 percent shooting from the field.

Tanchyn last played for First Love Hoops at Scotland Campus Prep, a post-graduate prep school located in Scotland, Pa., last season.
