Illumina has been named to 3BL Media’s 2023 100 Best Corporate Citizens list, which recognizes excellent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance among the 1,000 largest publicly traded firms in the United States. Illumina was ranked #21 overall, #4 in the Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, and Life Sciences business, and #1 in the Climate area.
ISS investigated companies for the rating, which is based on 184 environmental, social, and governance (ESG) parameters divided into seven pillars: climate change, employees, environment, governance, human rights, stakeholders and society, and ESG performance.
Out of the 1,000 companies studied, Illumina achieved the highest score in the ‘climate change’ pillar. This pillar provides defined scope 1, 2, and 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction targets, sub-targets, and performance reporting on climate change actions.
