Fifth Third Foundation Donates $5 Lac for Hurricane Relief in Florida; Bank Deploys eBus to Support Local Communities

Fifth Third Foundation Donates for Hurricane Relief in Florida

To aid individuals affected by Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in Florida on September 28, the Fifth Third Foundation has donated $50000.

The $500,000 commitment to five regional groups, according to Tim Spence, president and chief executive officer of Fifth Third Bancorp, is to provide support for the affected individuals and the thousands of others who are still struggling in the wake of the catastrophe.

The Fifth Third Financial Empowerment Mobile, or eBus, has also been made available to the people of Florida by Fifth Third Bank. Staff from the Bank will accompany the eBus to assist residents in applying for aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (DSNAP), and other programmes in collaboration with the city of Fort Myers and the Southwest Florida Enterprise Center.

Spence added, “Our hearts remain with the people of Florida and in solidarity with those impacted by the destruction brought on by Hurricane Ian.” “The donation from Our Foundation gives money and resources to assist communities in recovering in the areas where they are most in need. We are providing financial and catastrophe support to individuals who have been most negatively impacted by deploying the Bank’s eBus.

The Foundation will distribute its funds to the following organizations: United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties will receive $250,000; United Way of Collier and the Keys will receive $100,000; Lee Memorial Health System Foundation will receive $75,000; United Way of South Sarasota County will receive $50,000; and United Way of Charlotte County will receive $25,000.

The mission of the Fifth Third Foundation, according to Kala Gibson, Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, is to assist the needs of our communities. We take pride in our ability to provide monies to the people of Florida swiftly.

On October 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the eBus will be at 3909 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Fort Myers. The media will be informed of additional details and upcoming event dates for the eBus.

To make it simple for workers, clients, and communities to fund the support and recovery operations, the Red Cross has developed a specific Fifth Third microsite. Additional information on how to donate is available on the website. Donors can designate the Fifth Third Bank Disaster Relief as the recipient of their gifts.
