Abby Nissenbaum’s ‘Limerence’ Is A Dreamy Offering | News

Abby Nissenbaum is marking her return with brand new single ‘Limerence’.

A racing flashback to the 80s, the track is an elevating moment for the LGBTQ+ indie-rock artist. Adopting a dream-pop aesthetic, the Nashville based singer incorporates elements of electronic production alongside bright, nostalgic synths. As Nissenbaum’s wispy vocals glide across the chorus, ‘Limerence’ asserts itself as a collaborative effort between herself and producer Steph Trivison, a versatile listen from start to finish.

Following the release of her momentous debut effort ‘Unreliable Narrator’, the track opens up the next chapter for the artist. With a background in classical music and performing arts, the singer takes a theatrical approach to her craft, steering her music towards the stage.

Reminiscent of 60s female rock singers, ‘Limerence’ is an exciting moment for Abby Nissenbaum, marking a new direction in her journey.

Speaking on the track, Nissenbaum details: “We wanted to create a modern indie pop sound with throwback elements to queer synthpop bands of the early aughts (e.g., Uh Huh Her). I actually wrote the song on the bass, and Steph sampled the bass line from my demo in the final song, which you can hear as the lead-in instrumental. She built some really cool, bright synth sounds around it and we added in some ghostlike operatic background vocals for an eerie, almost deranged feel to the song.”

Tune in now.
