THE REVOLATION release new single ‘Liberty’

‘Liberty’ THE REVOLATION’s seventh single is an in your face, gutsy, driving rocker that hooks you from the very start. There is an energy in ‘Liberty’ that is a reminiscent of that true Australian rock sound that Alberts founded and shaped. Crunching guitars, big drums, pounding bass and vocals that sit on-top of everything, Liberty is a driving track that hits the spot and quenches your thirst.

To celebrate the release of ‘Liberty’ THE Revolation supported Electric Mary at Musicland in Melbourne on its release date and amassed praise for their set amongst the crowd and their peers.
This is just the beginning for THE REVOLATION They have more studio time booked, songs ready to go and are set to unleash their second EP in the coming months.

THE REVOLATION are not a Band to sit on their hands with new songs evolving on a regular basis. Keep an eye out for THE REVOLATION live.

THE REVOLATION’s story begins back in 1988 at Sarah Sands Hotel in Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia. Three of the four members were regulars, playing gigs in what was a thriving hard rock hub. It all started by degrees of separation; Dean Wittmann-Lamb, Scott Danson and Damian Zylstra all shared the Sarah Sands stage in separate bands on separate occasions. Out of the ashes of Wittmann-Lamb’s and Danson’s bands grew a lifelong friendship and musical partnership would evolve unbeknown to both Dean Wittmann-Lamb and Scotty Danson would come full circle thirty-four years later. This friendship would ultimately lead to the formation of one of Melbourne’s finest and most loved live hard rock band Cyclone Tracy. Cyclone Tracy were just as their name suggested, when the played live they brought the house down and no one was safe.

Fast forward to 2001; Wittmann-Lamb and his new band VALVE caught the attention of legendary songwriters & producers in VANDA & YOUNG who then recommended that ALBERTS sign the band. VALVE released their first single ‘Mundane’ which went #12 on the National alternative charts and received high rotation on NOVA FM and gained some serious attention within the industry.
VALVE were set to become household names like their predecessors in The Easybeats, AC/DC, The Angels, Rose Tattoo, The Choirboys and Stevie Wright.

In 2002 Cyclone Tracy split. Danson formed Melbourne Punk/Metal favourites Damnzal in 2003 who gained interest in international markets.

During the strange world of covid, THE REVOLATION was born. Dean was inspired to write songs again and with the help & a little nudge from his good friend in Rusty Brown (Electric Mary), Dean went into the studio to record his music once again.

He wrote and recorded ‘Tumblin’ in The Rough’, ‘Born Again’ & ‘Give a Little Love’ and with some seriously gifted musicians in Pete Robinson on guitar (Electric Mary, Russell Morris), Davey Porter on drums (Ross Wilson, 1927) and Rusty Brown on bass & producing, THE REVOLATION got the best possible start to get Dean’s music out there once again. These are known as the ‘Feel’ Sessions.

After releasing those first three singles, Wittmann-Lamb was now inspired to take THE REVOLATION from just being a recording artist project to a live performing band.

As auditions started, Dean knew what he was looking for and was determined to find the perfect ingredients that were needed. As it turns, he reconnected with his old mate & drummer in Scotty Danson who then recommended his old school friend, Damian Zylstra on guitar. The realisation all three had played in separate bands within the same scene in 1988 embellished the union as they all came from the same healthy diet of sixties, seventies and eighties rock.

The final ingredient in Gordon Lewis was added on bass completing the line-up. Lewis had the groove that the band were looking for. In just one rehearsal all four members knew they had something exceptional together. After only four rehearsals together THE REVOLATION took to the studio to record again at Studio.Be.One. That day there was an amethyst and magic in the studio and lightning was captured in a bottle while recording. Seizing the momentum the band entered into the studio shortly after as a band. THE REVOLATION recorded four tracks in one day ‘Soul’, ‘Liberty’ ‘Tangled Up in You’ & ‘Open-Ended’. To all that were present the magic that was made at that first rehearsal was captured on tape and resulted in all three songs being released as singles.

THE REVOLATION made their live debut in late 2022. Live THE REVOLATION are something to behold. Their ability to deliver songs with that same lightning in a bottle energy. The band’s ability to strip back performances to a two piece of Wittmann-Lamb and Zylstra allows a flexibility to further expose the raw talent of Wittmann-Lamb’s undeniably talented song writing. As a four piece the band live are more powerful, soulful and dynamic. What you hear on the self-funded EP and streaming services is just the tip of the iceberg. Live they are powerhouse and have been winning crowds over with their truly unique brand of soul based in your face rock n roll.

In June 2023 the band returned to the studio to record two new songs ‘The Fix’ and ‘Come Along’ also retouching their current single ‘Liberty’ before its release on July 21.
