Fred Abbott and The Wild Unknown (feat. Steve Llewellyn) “What Kind Of Trouble” – Americana UK

Here is the catchy new single from Fred Abbott and The Wild Unknown.  The upbeat ‘What Kind of Trouble’ is driven by excellent rhythm and drums, over which Abbott’s jangling guitar is engagingly melodic – bright sounds in time for summer sunshine.  Alongside Abbott on electric guitar, ‘What Kind Of Trouble’ features a smooth, tuneful performance from Steve Llewellyn on lead vocals.  Halfway through, Abbott’s easy, fluid solo displays his fine talents on the guitar.  Filmed at London’s Karma Studios, the accompanying video feels like we’re in a musical kaleidoscope, a psychedelic effect achieved in a single take using 360º cameras.

The former guitarist and keyboardist from Noah And The Whale, Abbott has kept busy since the band split, releasing a solo record, ‘Serious Poke’, back in 2015. Following that, he has worked as a producer, writer and session player with a variety of talented artists, such as Tom Chaplin (Keane) and Jamie Lawson.  ‘What Kind of Trouble’ is taken from Fred Abbot and The Wild Unknown’s forthcoming album “Shining Under the Soot”, due out on 7th July 2023 on Lojinx Records.  Enjoy.

From up north but now hiding in rural Suffolk. An insomniac music-lover. Love discovering new music to get lost in – country, singer-songwriters, Americana, rock…whatever. Currently enjoying Ferris & Sylvester, John Smith, Jarrod Dickenson, William Prince, Frank Turner, Our Man in the Field…
