Grian Chatten Confirms Solo Album ‘Chaos For The Fly’ | News

Grian Chatten will release new solo Album ‘Chaos For The Fly’ on June 30th.

The Irish music fronts Fontaines D.C., who spent the bulk of 2022 on the road touring their excellent third album ‘Skinty Fia’. As it turns out, Grian managed to balance this with a new creative endeavour – his first full length solo project.

Out on June 30th, ‘Chaos For The Fly’ is his debut solo album, and it has its roots in a visit back to Dublin. Songs poured out, the project came quickly into focus, with Grian commenting in a press note:

“I just thought: I want to do this myself. I know where we as a band are going next and that’s not where I want to go with this. I’ve got a couple of exaggerated aspects of my soul that I wanted to express…”

Producer Dan Carey came on board, with lead single ‘The Score’ emerging a matter of weeks ago. Full details of the album are now online, alongside bold new single ‘Fairlies’ – which comes equipped with a video animated by Callum Scott-Dyson.

Grian says of ‘Fairlies’…

“I wrote Fairlies in intense heat. Partly in Jerez, Spain, partly in LA a couple of days before a Fontaines D.C. tour kicked off. It was a quick write, and I believe I celebrated each line with a beer.”

Tune in now.
