Flume Drops Surprise Album ‘Arrived Anxious, Left Bored’ | News

Australian producer Flume has shared his surprise album ‘Arrived Anxious, Left Bored’.

Flume is busy clearing out his old hard drives, airing material that he is proud of, yet has never quite managed to fit into his broader projects. As a result, there’s a pleasingly scattergun pattern to these releases – take recent compilation ‘Things Don’t Always Go The Way You Plan’.

Out now, new 10 tracker ‘Arrived Anxious, Left Bored’ brings together material from the past few years, featuring experiments, left-turns, and off piste moments that Flume feels don’t quite align with some of his studio albums ‘proper’.

So, you’ve got collaborations with producers like Emile Haynie (Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, A$AP Rocky) and Jim-E Stack (Bon Iver, HAIM, Sudan Archives), as well as Flume’s first attempt at using his own vocals with ‘All There 1.9 [2019 Export Wav]’.

He comments…

This and the first ‘Things Don’t…’ drop are a bunch of songs that I always loved that didn’t fit on a previous record. It’s cathartic, it feels really nice to clean the slate and make way for what’s next.

The release comes as Flume completes a run of massive North American concerts, including a sold-out show this Friday (May 4th) at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with support from Chet Faker and Kučka.
