Can AI predict the future of planets or galaxies?

Reading Time: 3 minutes

It is quite a dilemma for the creator of the AI to know exactly what it can do. The world of the Internet has become an easy search bar for users to use to explore Unknown cultures, countries, cities, landscapes, stories, people, or even dressing styles in real time.

The purpose of technology has always been to connect the invisible dots and make connections to parts of the world that are difficult for us to explore or venture into.

We are always enchanted to know the things that are hiding behind the veil. The space has been a place of curiosity for every brilliant mind to capture and know everything that is hiding behind the veil.

Through different inventions, we started to explore and came up with various theories and ways to make friends with this unknown area, of which we are also a part and which is continuously revolving at a set pace.

Every time we think, Yes, we have done it; we made it our own, but every time it shows, my friend still has two more steps to take to come to know more about me. So, will AI be the final solution for us to know the planets and the galaxies and let us become the real “Guardian of the Galaxies”?

As per the expert point of view and based on the data and model available, the future of planets or galaxies can be predicted by AI.

Various techniques of AI, such as machine learning, deep learning, generative models, and computer vision, can be used for analyzing and simulating the behavior and evolution of celestial bodies.

It seems astronomers and astrobiologists can get immense support from AI to discover and classify new planets and galaxies and estimate the probability of life on other worlds.

Examples of AI used in space exploration:

  • AI technologies are applied by NASA to solve problems in space science such as finding asteroids, detecting exoplanets, and predicting solar storms. Companies such as Intel, IBM, and Google are also partnering with NASA to use advanced computer algorithms to solve problems. Frontier Development Lab, or FDL, is also a program by NASA to bring together technology and space innovators to develop AI solutions for space science.
  • AI uses a project called Earth 2050 to create a glimpse into the future of our planet and beyond. The project uses generative models and data from existing planets to create realistic but novel images of new planets and galaxies.
  • The incredible ways AI is used in space exploration, such as mapping the universe, exploring Mars, searching for aliens, and designing spacecraft, are described by the Springboard blog. It demonstrates the use of different methods and tools, such as neural networks, computer vision, and optimization, to perform these tasks.
  • The AI Plus Info website publishes an article that discusses the current and future applications of AI in space exploration, such as automated classification of celestial bodies, intelligent navigation of spacecraft, and detection of gravitational waves.
  • Space.com’s website is mainly about covering news and stories about space and astronomy and using ways to classify planets and predict the probability of life. The technique uses a neural network to learn from data on known planets and apply it to unknown planets.

In my opinion, AI is still quite unknown to us, just as space is also quite unknown to us. Do you think two unknown concepts can help each other and support us in ways that are still challenging to us? Can AI help us direct our energy to search for habitable planets more easily based on the resources we think are needed for habitable scenarios?

Can we use AI to sniff around the galaxies and the planets to provide what we are searching for with just one click?
