Lionel Richie Will Perform at the Coronation Concert Stage with a Windsor Castle Spectacular View

The stage is nearly ready for the Coronation Concert honouring King Charles and Queen Camilla's coronation!

The BBC revealed three rendered images of the staging for the May 7 Coronation Concert, which will take place one day after King Charles, 74, and Queen Camilla, 75, are crowned at Westminster Abbey in London. The stage boasts a spectacular backdrop of Windsor Castle, framing the royal residence's majestic Eastern Façade.

In the shape of an abstracted Union Jack, the staging generates numerous levels for the 70-piece orchestra and band. Four more catwalks branch out of the flag geometry from the stage into the crowd to provide greater space for performers.

20,000 members of the public from across the United Kingdom will attend the ceremony, as will members of the royal family.

The concert's eclectic lineup includes world-famous musicians Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Andrea Bocelli. Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, and Alexis Ffrench will also perform.

The performance, hosted by Paddington star Hugh Bonneville, will also feature pre-recorded comedy from Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins, Disney's iconic Winnie the Pooh, and others. Some of the segments will feature famous faces revealing little-known facts about King Charles.

In time with the concert, "Lighting up the Nation" will illuminate landmark locations around the United Kingdom with projections, lasers, and drone displays.

Free tickets to the Coronation Choir were made available to the public through a countrywide poll, and volunteers from some of the King and Queen Consort's charitable affiliations would also attend the concert.

During a recent interview with Extra, Richie remained tight-lipped about his performance at the Coronation Concert.

"I must tell you I can't say a word — it's a royal secret," the "All Night Long" singer explained. "They said, 'Don't reveal.'" But if I could, I'd tell everyone... I'm doing my best to keep it together, but being a part of something like this will be one in a million times in history."

Richie has known King Charles for many years, as he told HotGossipNewz earlier this month. "He's been in that prince role for a long time, but I'm excited to see what he's going to change now in terms of his reign," the singer remarked. "And as a result, I know him to be a wonderful person."

The coronation ceremonies for King Charles and Queen Camilla will continue on Monday, May 8, which Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has designated a bank holiday. Citizens of the United Kingdom are invited to take part in the Big Help Out, a volunteer programme, and donate their time to worthy causes.
