Michelle Obama Sings Backup for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band During Musical Concert in Spain

Michelle Obama and Bruce Springsteen make a great team!

The former first lady, 59, joined "The Boss," 73, onstage at the Estadi Olmpic Llus Companys in Spain on Friday night during his Springsteen and E Street Band tour stop.

Michelle played out with a tambourine and provided backing vocals during the performance of "Glory Days." Patti Scialfa, Springsteen's wife and bandmate, and actress Kate Capshaw accompanied her.

Michelle Obama's husband, Barack Obama, was spotted beaming and cheering his wife from the crowd during her unexpected appearance, according to Insider.

The song was performed after other favourites like as "Born in the U.S.A." and "Born to Run."

According to The Guardian, Michelle and Barack attended Springsteen's gig in Spain after dining with the rockstar and Steven Spielberg - Capshaw's husband — the night before at Palace Hotel's Amar sea food restaurant.

They were also photographed while strolling through Barcelona and visited the Moco Museum.

Springsteen has known the Obamas for a long time. He and Barack, 61, released their RENEGADES: Born in the USA podcast and accompanying book in 2021.

"I always say when I first met Bruce, he seems surprisingly shy, considering he goes out there and sings in front of tens of thousands of people for hours at a time," Barack said at the time on CBS Sunday Mornings.

"And we just ended up being in settings where we had these long conversations, and I thought the things we're talking about — what does it mean to be a man, what does it mean to be an American?" the former president said. These were just stuff that came up during a lunch... and I thought, You know what? This could be useful information for others to hear."

"When he called me, I thought he dialled the wrong number," Springsteen added. "'OK, let me sort this out,' I said. "I am a high school graduate from Freehold, New Jersey, and you want me to do what?"

The couple, who met on the campaign trail in 2008, will debut their podcast towards the end of February 2021. The team has candid discussions about racism, masculinity, fatherhood, their jobs, and their odd friendship on the project.
