Olivia Rodrigo With Honoree Alanis Morissette Hits the Red Carpet Before Inducting Icon Into Canadian Songwriters Hall Of Fame

Canada's biggest night honoring songwriters is back with five musical artists making their way into the Canadian Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

During Saturday's gala at Massey Hall in Toronto, Alanis Morissette, Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance, David Foster and Daniel Lavoie were all be inducted into the hallowed hall.

During the festivities, Olivia Rodrigo had another chance to pay tribute to Morissette by inducting the You Oughta Know singer during the ceremony, which comes nearly a year after they appeared together on the cover of Rolling Stone.

Ahead of the ceremony, the two musical artists hit the red carpet for a series of photographs.

The Jagged Little Pill star, who's a native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, showed off her fashion sense in a striking red suit, which included a double-breasted blazer and fitted pants, and a multicolored button-down shirt.

Rounding out her overall look, the Thank U star also wore a pair of blingy heels, and had her dark brown tresses styled long and flowing well past her shoulders with a part in the middle.

The alternative rock icon shared the spotlight of the red carpet with Rodrigo, who has previously singled out Morissette as one of her influential musical heroes.

The Murrieta, California native, 19, showed off her fashion sense decked out in a white and black, spaghetti-strap dress and matching open-toe heels.

In an added touch, she also wore a black band around her neck, that was a perfect match to her stylish number.

The Drivers License star styled her dark brown locks long and straight, while adding in a few braids along both sides of her face with a part in the middle.

At one point, the teenaged star wrapped her right arm around the neck of Morissette and leaned her head on the shoulders of her mentor.

Morissette also stuck a few poses alongside fellow inductee David Foster, who looked handsome in a black suit with a white dress shirt and black sneakers.

The 16-time Grammy-winning composer and arranger, 72, attended the event with his wife, singer and actress Katharine McPhee, 38.

She showed off her fab figure on the Red Carpet in fitted black denim jeans, matching top  underneath a black leather jacket.

Hosted by singer-songwriter Marie-Mai, the event also included performances by Corey Hart, Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake of Nickelback, Alessia Cara, JP Saxe, Charlotte Cardin, Jessie Reyez, Serena Ryder, Deborah Cox, Pierre Lapointe, Neil Donell of Chicago, Maurice Moore, Bobby Bazini, Bruno Pelletier, Ruby Waters and Clerel, according to the CSHF website.

The induction ceremony marks the first time that Rodrigo and Morissette have reunited since they appeared together on the cover of Rolling Stone last fall and surprised fans with an unscheduled duet of You Oughta Know in Los Angeles earlier this year.

In the Rolling Stone: Musicians On Musicians special edition, Rodrigo credited Morissette with changing her whole outlook on songwriting when she first heard her songs when she was 13.

'I was in the car with my parents when Jagged Little Pill came on. I heard Perfect, I was like, "Oh, my God… You can write songs like that?" I just looked at music and songwriting in a completely different way,' she said, reflecting on the experience.

The non-profit organization, founded in 1998, inducts Canadians into their Hall Of Fame within three different categories: songwriters, songs, and those others who have made a significant contribution with respect to music.
