No cutting of the rod is required. It is possible, however, to cut the rod to length and fit somewhat smaller tub or shower openings.

Moen Products are known for being well-made and durable. This rod is made of  type 304 Stainless Steel. While not a “rust free” material, Stainless Steel is very good at not corroding.

That means that this rod will fit a smaller tub or shower opening than most of the rest without haveing to cut it to length. At its longest extension this rod adds 9 inches of extra space to you shower area.

This one is pretty easy to install, and the manufacturer states that it only takes 15 minutes to complete. From looking at the components I would say that is do-able. Although it might take most of us a lot longer than that.

Easy To Install

Part of the ease of installation comes from the design of the mounting brackets. The bracket itself mounts directly to the wall, and then the rotating piece that the rod slips into screws directy to the bracket.

Some designs have a plate that mounts to the wall and then the mounting bracket snaps or screws onto that plate mounted to the wall. This design seems to simplify that process.
