Fostering rescue or shelter dogs saves lives. In an animal shelter, many dogs that don’t get adopted are put down to make more room for other dogs who need help. Unfortunately, this happens since many of these dogs have so much potential to become amazing family pets.
It helps animal shelters free up space and help the dogs fostered get ready for their new homes. It’s a great system that helps a lot of dogs find homes. This story is about a Pit Bull called Kaya. She was a foster pregnant dog adopted by a couple who don’t know that she is pregnant.

Kaya Pit Bull: A Tale of Adoption

However, a couple from British Columbia named Jesse and Tara didn’t expect that fostering one pit bull would enable them to save a total of 17 lives. Jesse and Tara came across a shelter dog named Kaya. Kaya was rescued as a stray and was already slated to be euthanized since nobody wanted to adopt her.

When Jesse and Tara first got Kaya, her ribs were showing. However, Jesse soon realized that Kaya was putting on so much weight that her belly grew. Jesse and Tara decided to pull Kaya from the shelter by fostering her, which gave her a better chance to find a forever home.

At first, Jesse thought that he was overfeeding Kaya. However, Jesse and Tara soon found that Kaya was pregnant when they took her to the vet for a checkup. The couple thought that Kaya was going to have a normal pregnancy. It turned out that when Kaya gave birth, everyone was shocked to learn that Kaya gave birth to 18 puppies.

Kaya- A Great Mom to All Her Babies

A couple of the puppies were stillborn, which is common in a huge litter, but they were glad that the other 16 puppies were healthy and thriving. The Pit bull proved to be such a great mom to all her babies. She fed them, groomed them, and played with them all the time. Eventually, all of Kaya’s puppies went to their forever homes. Jesse and Tara adopted Kaya and one of her puppies.

Jesse and Tara were so glad that they fostered Kaya. By fostering Kaya, the couple also rescued her 16 puppies. In fact, if Jesse and Tara hadn’t taken in Kaya, she would have been put down and her puppies would never have been born.
