Beagles have featured in many forms of media, such as film, television, magazines and books. Famous characters such as snoopy, gromit and many more have all been famous beagles.
Snoopy
Snoopy is a beagle that featured in the comic strip peanuts, that was created by Charles Schulz. Snoopy made his debut in October of 1950. Since this debut he has become a well known character who has his own place in pop culture. More recently Snoopy has made an appearance in the family film Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanut Movie. His original design was inspired by Charles Shulz childhood pet beagle, Spike.

Gromit
Gromit is a character from the famous stop motion franchise Wallace and Gromit. Gromit, the beagle, was Wallace’s best friend throughout the animated comedy. Gromit’s first appearance was in the short film A Grand Day Out. A Grand Day Out made it’s debut in 1989. The franchise was created by Nick Park of Aardman Animations. Wallace and Gromit was originally made up of four short films. Today the famous duo have had feature film, a six part TV series, ten two minute sports and one BBC Proms special.
Odie
Odie is a fictional beagle who is originally from the comic strip Garfield by Jim Davis. Since first appearing he has made appearances in an animated TV series, two live action feature films and three fully CGI films. Odie made his first appearance on the 8th August 1978.
Beagle Boys
The Beagle Boys are a family of criminal beagles who first appeared in Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories. The Beagle Boys are often seen trying to rob the very rich Scrooge McDuck. Since their first appearance they have featured in Soccermania, DuckTales, Mickey Donald Goofy: The Three Musketeers, Mickey Mouse, DuckTales(2017) and Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life.
Brain
Brain was a cartoon beagle that appeared in the Inspector Gadget franchise Brain appeared as Inspector Gadget’s companion in multiple episodes.
