Entries are open for the Spring 2023 Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership competition

COULD YOU AND YOUR CLASSIC BE THE NEXT WINNER OF THE Lancaster Insurance Pride OF OWNERSHIP?

The list of applauded winners of the Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership competition continues to grow with the search for the car and owner to take the Spring 2023 title now underway.

Held at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with discovery+, from 24-26 March, 20 classic cars and their owners will be invited to the show where the visitors will cast their votes for their favourites.

The list of winners to date include Paul Hibbert’s 1972 Porsche 914, John Smith’s 1964 Volkswagen Type 2 Deluxe Microbus, Rob Sargent’s 1969 Ford Cortina Savage, Jake Clappison’s 1979 Triumph Spitfire, Laura Godtschalk’s 1992 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet, and Ian Croft and his 1968 Lotus Elan Plus2 (below), who won the Autumn 2022 final.

Andrew Evanson, Senior Operations Manager of Lancaster Insurance, sponsors of the Pride of Ownership, said: “The competition has established itself as a firm favourite with enthusiasts and one we’re proud to be a part of it.  At each show the cars taking part, and the stories behind them, continue to astound me and I can’t wait to see the display next month and meet the owners.”

Open to privately owned vehicles manufactured before 31 December 2003, entrants are asked to share the story behind their classic with the judges. Whilst the standard of the vehicle is considered, it is not a concours competition so it’s not just about which car is the shiniest.

To enter, owners can submit an entry form, which can be found on the show website, and two images of the vehicle, including one full picture. Only one vehicle can be entered per owner. More details are on the show’s website at https://www.necrestorationshow.com/ pride of ownership. Chosen finalists will receive two tickets for each of the show days, free parking throughout and a commemorative certificate.

The winner and two runners up all receive trophies and a year’s free car insurance from Lancaster Insurance up to the value of £250 (T&C apply). The overall winner will also be offered the chance to display their car at the next event held by the organisers as well as the obvious bragging rights!
