A Rosy Performance

This charming rose is doing nothing to earn my Appreciation outside of existing.

It’s not making my lunch. It’s not doing the dishes. It’s not earning a paycheck. It’s just sitting there.

Does its state of inactivity and lack of Performance lessen my appreciation? Not one bit!

We find value in many things that don’t actually do anything. They just exist.

And yet when it comes to ourselves and others, we determine value based on performance. Why is that? It’s certainly not the way God views us.

May we begin to appreciate our value as God sees it — worth dying for!

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

Romans 5:6 NLT

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins” (Ephesians 1:4-7).

Chin up, friends! You don’t need to perform to earn God’s love. He loved you long before there was anything you could do to even attempt to earn it. You are a treasure!
