Everything You Need To Know About Pulsar’s NS 125 Mileage

Tags: mileage bike fuel

Pulsar is one of India’s most successful performance bikes and has sold over a million bikes over the last decade. Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS 125 are among the budget-friendly models of the series that provide competitive pricing and enhanced performance. However, this blog will delve into NS 125 Mileage, the best methods to calculate it, and tips for increasing your bike’s mileage. We have further compared the NS 125 price with other performance bikes and given our honest view regarding the vehicle’s pricing. So, let’s now delve into it right away.

How To Calculate NSA 125 Mileage?

It is quite simple to calculate the NS 125 mileage; simply divide the distance travelled by the vehicle (in kilometres) by the amount of Fuel used (in litres). Suppose you have travelled 30 km with your bike and the fuel consumed is 1 litre, then as per the formula 30/1, your mileage will be 30 kmpl.

The same formula can be used to calculate the mileage in 3 different parameters:

Full Tank Method

For this method to work properly, you will need to follow the process multiple times. Now, begin by resetting your trip meter to zero and getting your fuel tank full. After this, travel to approximately 100 km and calculate the mileage of the vehicle. After doing this, refill your tank to full again, ride to 100 km, and calculate the mileage. Repeat this 2 more times. If you have done it correctly, you will observe that the mileage was different every time. To get the closer number to your vehicle mileage, calculate the average of these mileages. However, even after that, the NS 125 mileage will not be 100% accurate.

Mileage Testing Bottle Method

This method will give an accurate measure of the mileage of your bike. However, to accurately measure the NS 125 mileage, you must ride your bike normally. From this, we mean don’t overspeed or aggressively accelerate or decelerate your bike, as this results in more fuel consumption. So, let’s begin with this method: the mileage testing bottle is attached to the carburettor through the handlebar, or tap it to your vehicle’s fuel tank. After that, your trip metre will be reset to zero, and you will be asked to ride your bike until the fuel in the bottle fills up to 100 ml. Once this is done, take the distance travelled from the trip metre and divide it by the amount of fuel you have used. This will give an accurate reading of NS 125 mileage.

Reserve Filling Method

This method is also quite straightforward in calculating NS 125 mileage. Ride your bike till it reaches the reserve notion. After that, note the reading of your bike’s odometer and fill up your fuel tank with 1 ltr or any other you want to. Now, let’s assume your bike has travelled 1000 km as per the trip metre when it got into reserve mode. After that, you filled up your tank upto 2 ltr and travelled 100 km more before it went into reserve mode again. Now, just deduct the final reading against the initial reading of the orthometer when your vehicle was in reserve mode, i.e. (1100-1000); your answer will be 100 km. After this, divide the number by the fuel utilised, i.e. 100/2, to get the mileage of your vehicle. Though this will not give as accurate a reading of NS 125 mileage as the mileage testing bottle method will, it will give you a rough idea of what mileage could be.

Tips To Increase NS 125 Mileage

Are you worried about your bike’s declining mileage? Then, read along.  you can even ensure the NS 125 mileage remains as new as it was with these tips. Let’s delve into them:

  • Avoid overspeeding or rushing your bike; maintain a constant speed of 30-50 km/hr.
  • Avoid parking your bike in direct sunlight as it may vaporise the fuel, resulting in low mileage.
  • Turn off the engine when your bike is standing idle, as it still consumes fuel.
  • Prefer good quality fuel.
  • Maintain tyre pressure as lower tyre pressure increases the load on the engine, reducing mileage.
  • Ride your bike in proper gear, and avoid riding vehicles at higher speeds and in lower gears.
  • Get your bike serviced regularly; it helps detect possible issues that may reduce the mileage of the bike.
  • Check the engine oil regularly and always use quality engine oils, as bad ones may negatively impact NS125 mileage.
  • Lubricating the chain on a regular basis helps the engine absorb fuel quickly.
  • Avoid pressing the clutch too hard; be gentle with it.
  • Cleanse out the air filters regularly to avoid reducing the performance of your vehicle.
  • Check out for any leakage in the fuel pipe, fuel filter and petrol tank on a regular basis
  • Avoid using the clutch while accelerating, as it may negatively impact your bike’s fuel consumption.
