Apple Event 2023 has just concluded, and tech enthusiasts are blown away by what Apple has to offer. In this event, Apple unveiled its new iPhone 15 series and new watch series. There is a lot to recap from this event, so without any further ado, let’s get started.  

Smartphone enthusiasts from all around the world have been waiting for the launch of the new iPhone series for a long time, and during the event, almost 30 million people watched it on YouTube. But Apple Event 2023 brought a lot more than iPhone 15. Here is the quick recap of Apple Event 2023.  

What Is New In The iPhone 15 Models This Year?

Just like the previous year, there are 4 iPhone models introduced in the Apple event 2023. All these 4 models will be available for pre-booking from 15 September 2023 onwards and will be on sale from 22 September 2023. 

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus– Apple’s non-pro models this year come with the much-anticipated change from the old lightning cable to USB Type-C. Along with this the non-pro models this year will have last year’s pro models’ chipset, A16 bionic, which is built on a 4nm structure just like its Android counterpart, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The iPhone 15 screen size will be 6.1 inches while the iPhone 15 Plus will be 6.7 inches. The new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will also see a bump in the camera resolution from 12 megapixels to 48 megapixels. Screen brightness in the new iPhones also went from 1200 nits in the iPhone 14 to 2000 nits in the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. Other than this, they’re identical to last year’s iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. The iPhone 15 is priced at $799 whereas the iPhone 15 Plus starts at $899.

iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max– Just like the previous years, the biggest changes that has been seen in the Apple event 2023 are in the Pro models. Just like their non-pro counterparts, the new iPhone 15’s Pro model comes with the all-new USB Type-C port. Unlike the non-pro model, the pro models have Type-C 3.0 which means that while the non-pro models are limited to a data transfer speed of 480 Mbps, the Pro models will have a data transfer speed of 10 Gbps. 

Now, the most significant change this year is their new Silicon called A17 Pro which is built on a 3nm structure. This is the first time Apple has used the word ‘Pro’ in their mobile phone silicon’s name and Apple claims that it is around 10% faster in high-performance cores and has at least 20% faster neural engine. On top of that, the A17 has one more GPU core than the A16 bionic. Along with this, the iPhone 15 pro max also has a new set of lenses for its telephoto camera, Apple is calling this new camera a ‘periscopic telephoto’. Only the Pro Max model has this periscopic telephoto camera and because of this, the optical zoom on the Pro Max model went up from 3x optical zoom to 5x Optical zoom. New iPhone 15 pro models also feature 8GB RAM as compared to 6GB RAM in iPhone 14’s pro models. This year’s Pro models will also feature a titanium body instead of stainless steel, making them the lightest Pro model ever. While the iPhone 15 Pro is priced at $999, the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at $1199.

Other Apple Products Launched In Apple Event 2023 

While the iPhone 15 was the showstopper of the event, Apple Watches, Airpods and Earpods also stole the spotlight. 

New Apple Watches

In their Apple event 2023, Apple also launched their new watch series, Apple Watches Series 9 will start at $399,  Apple Ultra 2 at $799; and the Apple SE watch at $249. This year, Apple is claiming that all of its watches are made carbon neutral. 

1. Apple Watch Series 9– Not much has changed in the new generation Apple watch as compared to the old one. The processing chip inside the watch is changed from the previous generation’s SiP 8 to the brand new SiP 9. In addition, there is a new feature called the ‘Double tap’. It allows the watch user to double-tap their index finger and thumb to answer calls or control a number of actions on an app. The screen brightness has also increased, from 1000 nits in the previous generation to 2000 nits this year. 
2. Apple Ultra 2– Their highest-end watch was also updated with the new SiP 9 chipset along with the ‘Double Tap’ feature. There wasn’t any other change in the new Apple Ultra 2. The screen brightness was also increased from 2000 nits to a whopping 3000 nits. 
3. Apple Watch SE- Just like the other 2 watches, not much has changed except the new chip. This year’s Apple watch SE will feature Series 8’s Sip 8 chip. 

New Type-C Airpods and Earpods

In the Apple event 2023, the company also launched the new AirPods with a Type-C charging case that starts at $249. Apple also launched a new Type-C wired Earpods at around $25. Users can purchase New AirPods through the store from September 22, the same day, iPhone 15 Series will also be available for purchase in India.
