Fans Outrage Over Sean Strickland’s Racist Rant on Indian female fighter in the UFC- “Customers Service Representatives”

In a groundbreaking moment for Indian MMA, Puja Tomar has secured a historic contract with the UFC, making her the first Indian female fighter to achieve this feat. The reigning Matrix Fight Night (MFN) strawweight champion is set to make her UFC debut on the promotion’s Louisville card.

As news of Tomar’s UFC debut spread, fellow Fighters and fans expressed their excitement. Among them, Sean Strickland, the former middleweight champion, shared his thoughts on social media.

Sean Strickland Racist Rant: a world where all Indians are signed by the UFC

Sean Strickland humorously quipped about a world where all Indians are signed by the UFC, playfully referencing the common experience of receiving scam calls from Indian customer service representatives. His tweet read:

“This is the world I dream of. A world where ALL Indians are UFC fighters. A world where I don’t get called about my Social Security Number being revoked. No more will my phone company put me in a loop of Indian customer service representatives. We are one step closer.”

His post received mixed comments from the fans. Surprisingly, a lot of Americans joined in on the racist rants. And only a small minority criticized his comments.

Puja Tomar, a hope for all the Indian fighters

Puja Tomar, who trains out of the SOMA Fight Club in Bali, Indonesia, has an impressive professional MMA record of 8-4, with six of those wins coming via knockout. Her journey from UP Budhana-Bijrol to the UFC represents a significant milestone for Indian fighters and the sport as a whole.

Indians are lagging way behind when it comes to producing top-notch fighters who can compete with some of the best combat artists in the world. India has no shortage of talent but it is the infrastructure that needs development, and for that India needs the support of fighters like Sean Strickland who are trying to bring fighters from third-world countries to the UFC.

Tomar’s signing with the UFC is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and the growing popularity of MMA in India. As she steps into the Octagon, she carries the hopes and dreams of many aspiring Indian fighters who aspire to follow in her footsteps.
