Singapore Watch Club – A Fraternity of Watch Collectors

Since 2015, Singapore Watch Club has quickly grown into an impressive horological community. Tom Chng, its founder, describes how 33 Club offers watch collectors a welcoming environment to indulge their passion for watches. Obtain the Best information about singapore watch club.

As part of its sixth-anniversary celebrations, the Club and Cartier have collaborated to produce 18 special edition watches. These unique timepieces include iconic Cartier shapes such as Cloche, Tonneau, Santos Dumont Tank Asymetrique, and Tank Cintree watches with silver dials displaying their colors within a blue minute track – perfect for commemorating this significant anniversary for both organizations!

Founded by Tom Chng

Tom Chng, formerly a forensic litigation specialist, now dedicates himself to building up Singapore’s world-class horological community. In 2015 he established the Singapore Watch Club as a platform for enthusiasts to share their passions and stories while supporting collectors who wish to develop meetup groups elsewhere in Asia or overseas.

Cartier recently collaborated with Singapore Watch Club to design 18 exclusive special editions of classic Cartier models made of precious metals, featuring its logo engraved into the minute track of each watch model. Each model’s name reflects one of their core values – pink gold for passion, yellow gold for sincerity, and platinum for humility – making this limited offering only available to members.

Founded in 2015

Tom Chng stands out as an unconventional watch collector. A former forensic litigation specialist, he established the Singapore Watch Club in 2015 to form a community of like-minded enthusiasts and share his passion for horology. Since then, he has garnered a significant social media following while creating limited editions with Swiss watchmakers Ulysse Nardin and Hublot that have garnered critical acclaim.

This 18-piece Cartier collection celebrates six years of existence for the Club by including models crafted in precious metals representative of each of its core values: rose gold for passion, yellow gold for sincerity, and platinum for humility.

As part of their dedication to their ethos, these watches feature spade and whip hands reminiscent of antique marine chronometers. Master enamellers from Donze Cadrans (a company acquired by Ulysse Nardin in 2011) fired these dials flawlessly; additionally, they boast a skeletonized movement, with the number VII turning upwards as a tribute to the year of the founding of their Club.

Located in Geylang

Geylang is Singapore’s red-light district, home to over one hundred brothels. While Geylang may be associated with prostitution and drugs, this neighborhood also offers delectable foods like san lou bee hoon, garlic-chili lala (clams), salted egg prawn balls, and white pepper crab.

Although the area boasts a lively nightlife, brothels have remained dormant since being closed down in April 2020. Illegal sex enhancement drugs like Viagra were being openly sold on the streets – I saw men likely in their 50s or 60s perusing these wares while ducking into small shops so police officers wouldn’t see them; this scene was quite disturbing for a city known for its stringent drug laws.

Red Bar does not have a watch boutique, unlike 33Club, which houses one for members and the general public. This makes it easier for high-net-worth collectors to buy and sell mechanical watches privately, scarce and hard-to-find models. Furthermore, 33Club hosts events and activities such as previews, visits to watch Manufactures, and exclusive experiences with top names in contemporary watchmaking.
