Brand Spotlight ‘Eyda Home’: Sustainability, Community, Culture

During our recent interview with Eyda Home, the brand’s founder, Mr. Pavas, shared their approach to building the company. He said, “We are focusing on developing the business as a cottage industry, rather than expanding it into a larger industry so that the small group of artisans and their families can equally benefit.”

Their goal is to prioritize the well-being and support of these artisans and their children. We are excited to introduce you to a brand that values sustainability, community growth, and the rich heritage of textile and weaving in India.

Behind the brand

Eyda Home is a home decor brand with a specialization in fabric design and weaving. Founded in 2012, the company has over 25 years of experience in the textile and handicrafts export industry.

The brand initially began by offering cushions and runners, but quickly expanded into other home textiles based products on customers’ responses.

They now provide an extensive selection of home furnishings solutions in bedding, throw pillows, cushion covers, bath, home decor, and floor coverings to retailers and importers worldwide.

Community

The brand works with handloom fabrics and handmade designs to offer unique products that blend culture and modern taste. The expert artisans and weavers at Eyda Home use only the finest quality raw materials to create authentic textile pieces

They work with a variety of artisan groups, both in-house and external, who bring years of tradition and cultural practices to their craft. “We have more than 100 groups working with us,” Pavas said.

They also have a team of Indian and global designers who create new, trendy products for each season.

Behind the Product

Eyda Home is committed to sustainability and ethical production. They use only organic cotton and handlooms to create a variety of products.

Each step of the process, from design and yarn sourcing to hand-finishing techniques such as embroidery, beadwork, block printing, stone washing, and stitching, is carefully executed by hand.

The brand also avoids using plastic packaging in order to further reduce its environmental impact.

On Top of Trends

Cactus Silk Inspired White Linen Pillow Cover

Eyda Home stays up-to-date with market trends and customer preferences by having a team of designers from both India and abroad working on their products.

According to Pavas, they start researching and designing at least six to seven months in advance, ensuring that each season’s products and designs reflect current trends.

When asked about their top-selling category, Pavas mentioned that their linen cushion covers inspired by Sabra and cactus silk, an African fabric, are currently their bestsellers.
