Pedestrian Dies in Main Street Accident in Hesperia
HESPERIA, CA (May 15, 2024) — A person died in a pedestrian accident at Main Street and Maple Avenue Monday night.
According to Hesperia Police officers, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 11:19 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a pedestrian began walking northbound from the southeast corner of Main Street in a crosswalk but against a red traffic light. Subsequently, a westbound Toyota traveling on Main Street at a green light struck the victim.
Minutes later, emergency personnel arrived to check on the pedestrian; however, the victim passed away from severe injuries. Witnesses told authorities that the victim had just left a nearby 7-Eleven before the accident.
The crash resulted in the vehicle sustaining visible front left-side damage. Following the crash, the Toyota driver stayed for the investigations.
At this time, the officials have not identified the victim or the cause. However, if anyone has additional information on this fatal pedestrian accident, please call the Hesperia Police.
