17-Year-Old Boy Dies After Trolley Strikes Him on Naples Street in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (October 24, 2023) — A 17-year-old boy was hit and killed by a trolley on Naples Street and Industrial Boulevard Sunday night.
 
According to the Chula Vista Police, the deadly incident happened around 10:15 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a Metropolitan Transit System trolley struck the 17-year-old boy near the Palomar Station on the Blue Line.
 
Subsequently, paramedics responded but the boy, whose name is unavailable, passed away before medics could take him to a hospital.
 
Following the crash, an investigation at the scene unfolded. However, authorities do not believe there was a criminal issue involved.
 
In the wake of the accident, trolley service experienced delays as trains had to operate on a single track for a brief time.
