61-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Muni Bus in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 21, 2023) – Thomas Duba was hit and killed by a Muni bus in San Francisco early Thursday morning on October 19.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:00 a.m. on Van Ness Avenue, just north of O’Farrell Street. According to the San Francisco Police Department, the bus struck Duba who was walking in the area.
 
Responding police officers found Duba under the bus and was suffering significant injuries.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, Duba was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a 61-year-old San Francisco resident, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
 
The bus driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
The circumstances of this fatality are still under investigation.
