3 Hospitalized in 2-Car Crash on Highway 44 in Shasta County

 
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (October 17, 2023) — Three people were injured in a 2-car accident on Highway 44 near Shingletown.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the major injury collision happened around 2:00 a.m. Monday. Under unclear circumstances, two vehicles collided and resulted in a one-lane closure.
 
Soon after the crash, paramedics responded and tended to three patients who sustained unknown injuries. Firefighters also put out a fire that resulted from the accident.
 
Due to the collision, officials closed the road for two hours with no clear estimate as to when it would reopen.
