Crossing Guard Suffers Head Injuries after Struck by SUV on Vineyard Avenue in Pleasanton

 
PLEASANTON, CA (October 15, 2023) – A school crossing guard was injured after being struck by an SUV on Vineyard Avenue in Pleasanton Thursday morning on October 12.
 
The crash happened just before 8:00 a.m. at Adams Way near Valley View Elementary. According to the Pleasanton Police Department, a midsize SUV struck the crossing guard assigned to that intersection. The intersection has a cross-walk and a school crossing sign.
 
Paramedics immediately responded and took the crossing guard to a hospital with head injuries.
 
The driver of the SUV stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Alcohol and drugs do not seem to be factors in the crash, police said.
 
Further investigation is underway. Authorities asked witnesess to call the Pleasanton Police Department at 925-931-5100.
