Lamar Abedi Involved in Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Highway 165 near Highway 140

 
MERCED, CA (October 13, 2023) — Lamar Abedi was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 165 near Highway 140.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, an unidentified Stevinson man began crossing the southbound lane of Highway 165 in a dark area, wearing dark clothing. Subsequently, a southbound 2016 Mercedes-Benz E350 struck the pedestrian on the road.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and found the victim with severe injuries. However, he passed away moments later. Officials have yet to release his name.
 
As for the 27-year-old driver — Abedi, of Agoura Hills — he stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
 
Authorities do not have information on what led to the accident, but if anyone has more information, please call the CHP.
