Man Struck Dead, Dog Hurt in Bike Accident on Oak Street in Laguna Beach

 
LAGUNA BEACH, CA (October 9, 2023) — A man died in a bicycle accident on Oak Street and Glenneyre Street.
 
According to Laguna Beach police, the deadly bike accident happened around 6:53 p.m. Saturday. Under unclear circumstances, an unidentified driver struck a male bicyclist at the intersection.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and took the man to a hospital with critical injuries. However, despite receiving life-saving efforts, the victim passed away. Officials have yet to release his name.
 
A dog was riding with the man in the bicycle’s basket. Fortunately, the canine suffered only minor wounds and was taken to a local animal hospital for care.
 
As for the motorist, he or she stayed and cooperated with the investigation. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs factored into the accident. However, an ongoing investigation will confirm the details.
