Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Hyde Park Neighborhood

 
HYDE PARK, CA (October 7, 2023) – Jacinto Ayala Gurrola was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles Thursday evening on October 5.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:30 p.m. at Vernon Avenue and Sixth Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the victim was riding his bicycle east on Vernon when a vehicle driving in the same direction struck him and did not stop to render aid.
 
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced Gurrola dead at the scene.
 
Gurrola was 51 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s Office. His city of residence was not known.
 
Police are still investigating the crash and searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
