7 Injured, Including Children, Robber Crashes Into Cars on 81st Street in South Los Angeles

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (October 5, 2023) — Seven people suffered a range of injuries after a robbery suspect caused a car accident on 81st Street near the 110 Freeway.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the multi-car crash happened around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Before a pursuit could unfold, a wanted robber crashed into a vehicle in the 200 block of West 81st Street.
 
However, prior to that, officers conducting surveillance on 83rd Street spotted the suspect. Subsequently, they called a helicopter but the suspect had already crashed into at least one vehicle, including one car shuttling six occupants.
 
Shortly after, paramedics found seven people with injuries, including three young girls ages 5 months, 4 years, and 5 years old.
 
The other injured included a 36-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and a 40-year-old man who suffered critical injuries.
 
Information on the robbery was unavailable. However, police plan to book the suspect in connection with the robbery and collision.
