Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Division Street in Alta Vista

 
ALTA VISTA, CA (September 28, 2023) — A woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Division Street near Paradise Road.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the pedestrian accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a driver of what authorities believe was a 2011 to 2015 Chevrolet Cruze fled the scene after hitting a 42-year-old woman pushing a shopping cart. Per the investigation, the accident occurred on the right shoulder of the eastbound lanes when the vehicle was traveling in the same direction as the woman.
 
Following the crash, medical personnel responded but pronounced her dead shortly after. With the help of surveillance footage, police narrowed down the vehicle model. Police also believe the car is missing a right-side mirror.
