Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Van at Mira Mesa Boulevard in Sorrento Valley

 
SORRENTO VALLEY, CA (September 22, 2023) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Pacific Heights Boulevard.
 
According to reports, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 8:16 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a woman began walking southbound against a red light on Pacific Heights Boulevard and stepped into the path of an eastbound 2016 Chrysler Pacifica van. Subsequently, the 40-year-old driver was unable to dodge the crash and hit the woman.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived, but the 57-year-old woman died from her major injuries. Authorities do not believe alcohol played a part, but the San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating the characteristics of the accident.
