Vehicle Fatally Strikes Pedestrian on Highway 38 near Garnet Street

 
MENTONE, CA (September 16, 2023) – Jared Michael Dyer was hit and killed by a vehicle in Mentone Friday morning on September 8.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:32 a.m. on Highway 38, about a mile east of Garnet Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle struck Dyer while he was walking on the highway.
 
Dyer suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 34 years old from Mentone.
 
No other additional information available at this time. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatality.
