Rider Hurt in High-Speed Motorcycle Crash in Mission Beach

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (Sept 6, 2023) — A 21-year-old motorcyclist suffered severe leg injuries in a high-speed crash on Jetty Road.
 
According to the authorities, the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. at 2600 North Jetty Road, Mission Beach. The young man was navigating his 2008 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle at a high speed westbound toward the parking lot.
 
Officials said the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed. As a result, he overlooked the closed parking lot gate in his path. Despite attempting to halt his motorcycle, he couldn’t avoid a collision and smashed into the gate.
 
Emergency medical services transported the man to a nearby hospital. He was diagnosed with multiple femur fractures in his left leg.
 
The San Diego Police Department’s traffic units arrived at the scene and took over the investigation. The authorities ruled out DUI as a contributing factor in this crash.
