2 Hurt, Big Rig and Box Truck Accident on 10 Freeway in Cabazon

 
CABAZON, CA (July 18, 2023) — Two people reported minor injuries after a big rig and a box truck crashed on the 10 Freeway near Morongo Trail.
 
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the two-car crash happened around 7:00 a.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a big rig and a box truck collided, causing the rig to overturn and the box truck to topple onto its right side.
 
Responding paramedics found two people in need of hospitalization. Medics transported the patients to a nearby hospital as crews issued a SigAlert to block three lanes as a result of the crash.
 
By 9:00 a.m., authorities opened the westbound lane but kept the two right lanes closed.
 
Reports did not say what led to the accident, but further investigation should identify the precise cause.
