Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Two Vehicles on Lilac Road in Valley Center

 
VALLEY CENTER, CA (May 21, 2023) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Lilac Road in Valley Center Tuesday evening on May 16.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:30 p.m. just west of Hideaway Lake Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Kicks in Lilac Road’s westbound lane. In front of her was a 63-year-old man driving a Dodge Caravan.
 
The victim, a 32-year-old Valley Center resident, crossed Lilac Road in a southerly direction when both the SUV and minivan struck him.
 
Paramedics immediately responded and tried saving the pedestrian. However, the victim did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
 
The two drivers were unharmed.
 
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. CHP officials asked witnesses to reach out to them at 760-643-3400.
