1 Person Hospitalized in Pedestrian Crash on Van Ness Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (May 8, 2023) — One person was injured in a pedestrian accident on Van Ness Avenue at Merced Street Sunday.
 
According to the Fresno Police Department, a pedestrian accident happened around 2:00 a.m. For an unknown reason, shots were fired during an unclear disturbance near the intersection. Subsequently, a driver struck a pedestrian. Fortunately, no one suffered an injury by gunfire. However, the pedestrian suffered moderate injuries in the crash.
 
Police have not released any other details about the shooting or how the crash unfolded. If anyone has more information, please call Fresno Police.
