Passenger Dies in 2-Vehicle Crash on 80 Freeway in Vallejo

 
VALLEJO, CA (January 6, 2023) — A passenger died in a 2-vehicle accident on the 80 Freeway near Magazine Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle collision happened around 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Under unclear circumstances, a westbound Dodge Ram struck a box truck near the Magazine Street off-ramp. It appears the box truck was being loaded onto a tow truck before the crash.
 
As a result of the accident, the Dodge passenger died at the scene. As for the driver, paramedics took the surviving patient to a nearby hospital for care.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, authorities closed multiple lanes on the freeway, backing up traffic to Tennessee Avenue.
 
At this time, authorities do not have the victim’s name or the cause of the crash. An investigation into this case should confirm the details.
