Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Harbor Scenic Drive in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 3, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Harbor Scenic Drive near Ocean Boulevard.
 
According to Long Beach Police, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 11:10 p.m. Sunday. Upon responding, officers found the victim on the road appearing to have been struck by a car. Shortly after, they pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
 
While police investigated, the driver of the vehicle involved reportedly called the police. Investigators learned that the 20-year-old Lakewood resident was heading northbound in a 2013 Nissan Altima on Harbor Scenic Drive. However, the driver struck the man, who was attempting to cross westbound on foot across the lanes of traffic.
 
The driver appeared to have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
