Keith Harper, a 74-year-old resident of the ranch and self-proclaimed close friend of Dia, received a concerning text from her around 4:20 p.m.

While he was busy mowing the meadow, Dia wanted to discuss something important. However, Harper decided to postpone their conversation to later in the evening.

Upon returning to her home at about 7 p.m., he found no trace of Dia. Noticing her truck, keys, and purse were still at the property, Harper assumed she might be somewhere on her expansive 116-acre land.

He informed Dateline’s Keith Morrison that he searched the ranch all night. The following day, with Dia still missing, he contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Harper mentioned plans he and Dia had of getting married, even noting a proposal on the ranch.

But this account is debated by some close to Dia, claiming she never mentioned any marital plans with Harper, a previous owner of a recreational business in Colorado.

He shared that their relationship began on a dating platform, “Farmers Only.”

When Dia’s son, Clinton, was alerted of her disappearance by a neighbor, he immediately rallied friends and drove from his La Jolla residence to assist in the search for his mother.
