Salo Luna Garrido is one of the Chileans who stayed at Colonia Dignidad and spoke about his experience in the docuseries. The Dignidad Survivor has not revealed his age.

Salo Luna arrived at Colonia Dignidad when he was around eight years old. He remarked that it was like paradise for him at first and that he learned a lot there.

Salo mentioned that he was a Youth’s Permanent Vigil member then. He interacted with Paul frequently since he became a voice for Chilean youth.

But Salo quickly realized the awful truth about Colonia Dignidad. Salo referred to the location as a “cradle of horrors” in the docuseries.

In addition, he initially indicated that Paul was pleasant to him. However, Salo also stated that it gradually became an obsession, so Paul spoke with Salo’s mother about them moving into the colony.

Luna even offered to construct a house. The highest honor a boy could receive at Colonia Dignidad was that of a “sprinter.” Paul would bring these sprinters wherever he went to help him with his everyday responsibilities.

Salo ultimately went home from Germany but said he would have people come up to his street and call him a traitor.

Fortunately, his neighbors were supportive and assisted in his protection. Salo stated that he was satisfied and joyful following Paul’s imprisonment in 2005.

Luna appears to be doing well these days, as he lives in San Fabian, Chile and works at a municipal office. He stated on the episode that he was still in contact with several colonists.

When Salo was around 18, he fled and contacted a buddy, 24-year-old Tobias Müller.

According to the show, Tobias informed Salo that Paul had raped and beaten him. They chose the 36th-anniversary celebrations as the date for their departure.

They dashed to Salo’s house, where they ended up at the German ambassador’s apartment and were eventually accepted to Germany. Tobias filed a report against Paul over there.

This occurred in 1997, and it was assumed that Paul was hiding someplace on the property. Tobias was supposed to be familiar with the place.

Currently, he serves his community by working at a municipal office, a witness to his fortitude and commitment to rise above the gloom of Colonia Dignidad.
